Bamboo sealent system?
This site http://www.calibamboo.com/bamboo-flooring-durability.html shows you what the put on the bamboo for the flooring. I want to make sure the layers are also earth friendly. I know #1,2,3 are. This is what it says from Cali Bamboo "10-stage, water-based, acrylic topcoat system is 100% environmentally safe and free of all harmful chemical compounds. All coatings are free of halogenated hydrocarbons, heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, urea formaldehyde and any harmful emissions."
Also, is bamboo stronger than some hardwoods? How strong is bamboo?
Your sealant sounds like it's about as environmentally safe as any you'll find. I love the look of bamboo and will soon be replacing a bedroom laminate floor with bamboo. I have done some research and don't recall any hardness comparisons other than that bamboo compares to hardwood in terms of toughness. It's definitely more durable than the laminates and infinitely more beautiful. Bamboo flooring is very nice, resilient, strong. However it is noticeably softer than hardwood. The systems I'm familiar with come prefinished
